🗺️ How NordicJobs.net works

A quick guide to getting the most out of the site.

🔍

Finding jobs

Use the search bar to search by keyword. Filter by region, job type, or country using the sidebar. Every listing shown requires English — you won't see Norwegian- or Swedish-only postings.

🗺️

The map

Dots on the map represent active listings. Clusters expand as you zoom in. Filter by region and the map updates to show only those jobs. Click a pin to see the job title and a quick link.

🔒

Free vs subscriber

Free accounts see job titles and teasers. Subscribers ($8/mo) unlock full descriptions, employer names, direct apply links, employer search, and the ability to save favorites.

Saved Jobs

Star any listing to save it. On the Saved Jobs page you can track your application status — Just Looking, Applied, Interviewing, Offer Received, or Rejected. This data is private and never shared.

🏢

Employers page

Browse all employers currently hiring, sorted by number of active listings. Subscribers can click through to filter jobs by a specific employer.

🌡️

Climate widget

On each job page, if the employer's location is known, you'll see current weather plus a typical yearly climate chart — useful context when considering a relocation.

❓ Frequently asked questions

The most common questions from our users.

Where do the job listings come from?

NordicJobs.net pulls listings from Sweden's official public employment service (Arbetsförmedlingen, via the JobTech API) and Norway's official employment service (Arbeidsplassen, via NAV's feed). These are the most comprehensive sources of job postings in each country — all employers are required to report vacancies. We then filter those listings for ones where English is mentioned as a requirement or the posting is written in English.

How often are listings updated?

Swedish listings are updated hourly from Arbetsförmedlingen's live feed. Norwegian listings are updated every hour via NAV's incremental feed. When a job expires or is withdrawn, it is removed from the site automatically.

Why can't I see the employer name or full description?

Employer names, full descriptions, and apply links are available to subscribers only ($8/month). Free accounts see the job title and a short teaser. This subscription supports the service and keeps it ad-free.

What does "English-friendly" actually mean?

It means the word "English" appears in the job title or description — either because the listing itself is written in English, or because the employer explicitly states English is required or acceptable. It's not a guarantee that the role requires zero knowledge of Swedish or Norwegian, but it is a strong signal that English speakers are welcome to apply.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Go to My Account → Manage billing. This opens the Stripe billing portal where you can cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep access until then. Per our Terms of Use, we do not offer refunds, but you will never be charged after you cancel.

My saved jobs disappeared / the star button isn't working.

Make sure you're logged in. Stars and saved jobs are tied to your account and only visible when signed in. If you're logged in and it's still not working, try logging out and back in, then contact support below.

A listing looks outdated or incorrect — can you fix it?

Listings come directly from official government APIs and reflect what employers have posted there. If a listing seems wrong, the most reliable check is the source: Arbetsförmedlingen (Sweden) or Arbeidsplassen (Norway). Use the "Report a listing" option in the contact form below and we'll look into it.

Do you answer visa or immigration questions?

No — we're a job listing site, not an immigration service. Our Visa Guide covers the general process, but for questions specific to your situation please consult a qualified immigration lawyer. Every case is different and we are not qualified to advise on individual situations.

I found a bug or something is broken.

Please use the contact form below and select "Technical issue." Include as much detail as you can — which page, what you did, and what browser/device you're using. We appreciate the report.
